Mobile reporting

New digital tools change the way reporters write as much as they change the way consumers read. It’s important for your newspaper to build the tools for its reporters to work on-the-go, just as it’s important to provide your news in a variety of digital formats.

I’m writing this post on my iPhone using the wordpress iPhone application while sitting in a restaurant at Logan Imtrnational waiting for a flight. Can your reporters do that?

Think about the London bombings. Not that long ago. Eyewitnesses took photos with their phones and uploaded them to the Internet. Wouldn’t it be great if your reporters could do that under your paper’s masthead?

Remember that digital publishing technology means that people are no longer tethered to paper or a phone line or even a computer. That means writing, too. Not just reading.
