The link in the New Yorker itself did not work but came up with an error message (from the New Yorker) -- Probably because the printed link in the magazine uses "L" within the word digital. Geesh! Your link is the same, with a small "l" and that worked just fine. Seems the New Yorker wants to make everything difficult. (I commented on your post about the reader technology -- which is one of the worst things about the "complete New Yorker" itself!) I found your post using Google.
