It’s that time again – I’ll buy the drinks, you bring the brains. The last time we held The Pitch, seventeen people showed up and shared their opinions about whether or not there is a sustainable business model to support a print daily newspaper.
This time around, we’ll be hosting it at the brand new Jazz club called Lucid, which is right across the street from the Emigrant on University Ave. David is generously providing the space from 7-9 on a Wednesday, and we’ll have it—and the bar—all to ourselves.
And what is “the pitch” this time?
An established newspaper will never be able to provide better hyperlocal coverage than a well-managed neighborhood blog.
Agree or disagree, I’ll still be providing free drinks (if anyone wants to sponsor – let me know) to the tune of a $200 bar tab.
The evening’s discussion will be kick-started with short, five-minute presentations from Tracy Record of West Seattle Blog, Curt Milton from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and Justin Carder from Capitol Hill Seattle.
For more info on how the event is structured, check out the official event page. And if you want to show up, make sure you drop your name on the official guest list today.
